Dogs have been around as long as we have. Their place in life has made many changes through the years. They started as wild animals, have become domestic and now are family pets. Dogs, especially small dogs, play a large part in their owner’s life going everywhere with them. Many dog owners buy dog clothes for their dogs and treat them as they would their own children. I have seen many cute dogs sitting in the front seat of a car right next to their master.
Dogs have always played such a huge part in the world; there have been cartoon dogs forever. You remember Snoopy, Odie, Citizen Dog, Scooby Doo, and when we think of cats and dogs, we can’t forget Tom & Jerry. Since television began, we have been introduced to family dogs such as Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Benji and Beethoven. These wonderful canines have made children everywhere want a dog. We see all the best in dogs when we watch these shows. We don’t see the dogfights or the dog barking that is a real part of dog ownership.
Almost all of the dogs that our children or we have grown up watching on television are pets or watch dogs. There are types of dogs that we don’t hear much about and one of them is the hunting dog. Hunting with hunting dogs has gained much popularity through the years. There, however, is still an enormous amount of controversy involving hunting with dogs. There is a lot of training to turn a dog into a good hunter. Much research and practice goes into dogs mating to attain certain qualities in the offspring.
It is a tough decision picking out your first dog. If you see small dogs for sale, keep in mind that they won’t always be small. Many people, children and adults, see a free puppy and fall in love instantly without thinking it over first. If you are looking for a cute dog, I wouldn’t recommend pug puppies or pitbull puppies. While they both are adorable as puppies, not many people find them attractive as adult dogs. If you have children, find out if this specific breed is good with children.
One common mistake when looking at puppies is assuming that the quiet, shy puppy will be the well-behaved dog. Puppies should be playful, inquisitive, and sociable. If they are not, they may be sick puppies. You do not want to start with a sick animal.
