Dog Accessories
If you are a dog owner, or are planning to become one in the near future, there are dog accessories you will want or need. There is a vast assortment of accessories for dogs. Some of the dog accessories are necessities and others may fall in the category of a luxury of fun accessory. Some dog owners that buy their dog almost as many clothes and accessories that they have.
If you travel a lot with your dog, you will need a supply of travel accessories for dogs. When I travel with my dog, I always bring the following accessories along:
· A large jug of water with ice cubes in it to keep it warm.
· A Ziploc bag of her dog food
· Her leash
· Some small chew toys, but the ones that can’t be demolished in minutes.
· A Ziploc bag of dog biscuits or treats
· A roll of paper towels (for spills or doggie accidents)
· Water in a spray bottle
· Her brush and comb
· Her health record is inside of her ‘travel bag’
When we travel together, we seldom are gone more than a few days so I know I have adequate dog in car accessories for almost anything that can occur. I feel that the most important dog accessory if traveling is water.
If you have a puppy, you definitely will need puppy accessories. I feel it’s very important in training a puppy to give him rewards or treats for positive behavior. I don’t use them all the time, but occasionally a treat is appreciated. A very important puppy accessory is chew toys. Puppies are infamous for chewing, chewing and more chewing. If the pup has his or her own puppy accessories of chew toys, they’ll be less inclined to chew your things.
There are stores everywhere that sell dog supplies, pet and dog accessories in almost any category you can imagine. Many owners buy their dog clothes and accessories to go with them. Some favorites are sweaters and hats for the cold weather. These are wonderful when they are outdoors, but should be removed as soon as they get back in as dogs can get hot quickly.
Owners of small dogs may purchase small dog accessories specifically made for little dogs. I have seen some of these small dogs in designer dog accessories and they look adorable. Imagine that little poodle next door in a Harley vest and matching scarf/hat or the German shepherd down the road in a Nike sweater.
Victoria Secret sells Victoria Secret dog accessories such as collars and leashes, doggie laptop cases and logo t-shirts. If expense isn’t an issue, you might want to check out Burberry dog accessories. They have a leather trimmed reversible jacket and matching collar and leash. These are a must for the person that loves the look of leather.
If your dog is a working dog, there are specialty stores that sell service dog accessories such as dog harnesses, crates or doghouses with all the parts that go with them.
